Calcific shoulder tendinopathy
Symptomatic calcifying tendinopathy of the shoulder is a common condition characterised by the accumulation of calcium hydroxyapatite crystals within the tendons of the rotator cuff muscles. The condition often presents acutely, though can be sub-acute or chronic . The natural history of the disease is unclear, some consider it to be self-limiting though others report a protracted clinical course resulting in significant disability.
