The epley maneuver

BPPV (benign paroxymal positional vertigo)

is a condition that is caused when the crystals (otoconia) in our inner ear get detached, and they move in our semicircular canals when we change position. This causes Vertigo or the filling that the room or space we are in is spinning around us. After a medical history and evaluation to rule out other conditions, we test this by using the DixHall-Pike maneuver to assess the direction and which eye has a stronger Nystagmus. Nystagmus is a is the erratic eye movement into torsion, horizontal or vertical involuntary eye beat after the maneuver is performed. Based on which pattern the eyes move, certain movement patterns are performed to solve the vertigo
